Not so quick Ted. I'm that EDJ advisor that you thought wasn't reading this thread.

First off, I wanted to make clear that EDJ itself is not the cause of Hank's advisor putting him in the wrong share class. With over 10k FA's it's not easy for the company to watch every transaction.

EDJ has always told me to do what's right for the client. Not once have a been told to invest in XYZ in an effort to milk the client for more commissions.

I'm sorry to hear that you're not happy with your particular advisor, but do keep in mind that the majority of EDJ FA's will certainly have your best interest at heart.
On top of that, if you think you're going to find a better/more honest FA at another firm, think again. Other firms will not only milk you for more commissions, they'll even trade against their clients after making a recommendation. Happens all the time. If you really want to get away from EDJ, I would recommend an independent advisor, but stay away from the big names.

Good luck.

Hank - you might consider switching Edward Jones reps. The guy who set up my Roth put me in B shares as well. A EJ rep that I go to church with who I am going to switch over to has all of my new investments going into A shares. Over the long haul, A is the way to go...you'll make more $$ if you're a long term investor.

As for my B shares...they're just going to sit there and stay B.
