Like you, I didn't learn a lot about money management from my folks. Their hearts were in the right place...I think they were trying to spare us worrying about money when things weren't good and trying to keep us from acting like "rich kids" when things were good. They succeeded there, but I launched out of the nest with A LOT to learn about $$$! Now I'm raising two little guys (ages 3 & 5) and I'm really trying to give them (age appropriate) lessons about money - how to to make, spend, save, and give it away wisely! I spend a lot of time on our website's "Life Skills" portal (I work for Education.com) and have learned a lot about how to teach my kids these important lessons.
