Net worth update December 1, 2007 (+5.16%)

Sorry this is a few days late – my Life Insurance statement hadn’t come in the mail yet; yes, the mail.  This is another reason I’m going to dump it.  I like to have everything online at my fingertips and I can’t see this account online yet. So tt wasn’t too bad of a month across [...]

Net Worth Update May 9, 2008 [$120,697.64 (+3.55%)]

We’re looking up again this month – looks like the mutual funds are coming back a little bit this month. Both the wife and I had good 401k returns this month. The house dropped a bit, but that’s to be expected, but overall we’re looking up again.

Weekly Roundup #13 (January 19, 2008)

Photo by: matangueroThis week I found myself fighting back the elusive CPU quota exceeded errors I was getting from Bluehost.com because I was getting a lot of hits from the Magic Quadrant of Personal Finance and “Why is it taboo to talk salary?” posts I tossed out this week. I like it because of the [...]

GOOD Decisions I’ve Made On My Investing Journey

I’ve had 2 posts worth of BAD investing decisions so far (1, 2). I didn’t want people to think I’ve not made any GOOD decisions, because I have, just not as many yet. I’m still young, had no financial education, and had some bad financial advice early in my career. But I’m riding the wave [...]

Hanks Weekly Hangouts #20 (March 8, 2008)

This week had a lot of ups and downs. CNN posted a pretty sweet article on timing what Uncle Sam gets but Brett Favre hung up his cleats also. The weather was sunny in the Pacific northwest for the first time since the rain started back in May, so that’s a good thing…

Weekly Roundup #14 (January 26, 2008)

6 Tips For Bumping Up Your Credit Score

I’ve been asked about credit tips a few times since starting this blog so I figured I’d knock out 2 birds (actually 4 emails) with one stone… I’m always up for getting ahead financially when I can, and a good credit score can be a good place to start. However, I haven’t had a need [...]

Net Worth Update July 16, 2008 [$102,416.87(-9.57%)

Welp, the landscaping and deck building this past week dug deep into the e-fund and overall numbers so they’re not really as bad as they show up because they should both pay off more than the 8k-ish spent on them.

New October 2007 Net Worth Balance Sheet

So I refined the ol’ net worth to better reflect and build on my other investments – I think I have a pretty good handle on it now, and I can relate this spreadsheet far better in the weeks, months and years to come. It is really amazing that as bad as the initial -420k [...]
