I don&#039;t know why you were in B shares, Isn&#039;t that for people investing a LOT of money?

When I picked my share classes in my Roth IRA, I looked at my investment timeline, expense ratio, and loads. I have my Roth IRA with American Funds, in class-c shares. There is no front load, and no deferred load as long as my money is in the shares for at least 12 months. After the 12 months, there is no load. Because there are no loads there is a slightly higher expense ratio of 1.35%.

I chose to put into class-c shares because I planned on using this money for a home. Whether I do or not I&#039;m happy with the 0% loads on either end.
